Dressing up for the Fourth of July is different than dressing up for most other occasions- not because there are rules (there are definitely no rules, although some might suggest holding the flag instead of being the flag- others will say "do both") but because of the patriotic spirit that even the craziest, most star spangled, embody. The overwhelming spirit of this country- to me- is magnificent and admirable. That's what made this particular look so gratifying (as well as the glorious air vent in 90 degree weather).
So Happy Fourth, to all you styledevotees, wherever you're from- we hope you flaunt your right to freedom with your clothes and your spirit. Oh, and if you're on Instagram- tag us with your own Red, White and Blue look and we'll be sure to comment!
* I always had a hard time with tulle skirts because I think they present this spectrum of prospective looks that start at "ballerina" and end at "promzilla"- but there are definitely ways to play them down to fit your style.
