Going on the lavender trail in Provence was an item on my travel bucket list for years, and being able to cross it off was a great feeling in itself, but the actual experience was breathtaking, even though we were almost disappointed. Lavender season starts in June and goes on until the beginning of August- and because we were there for the end of the season, the flowers weren't as vibrant as they could've been. We persisted for a while, and ventured pretty deep into the trail when we found the one that you can see in the pictures- and standing in the midst of it felt like being in a fragrant real life painting.
We drove for a good 8 hours, got lost plenty of times, but saw some amazing Provencal landscapes and towns along the way- definitely a place to stay if you're in the area during June or July.
