I remember the first time I wore these sandals out and someone said these words to me: I really liked your outfit, until I saw your slippers. I should've said, or even thought... ouch-I paid $60 for these!* But I was genuinely unaffected, still blissful about my purchase- this is seriously rare. That's when it hit me.
Since the resurrection of the ugly sandal (courtesy of the Celine Spring 2013) many women have allowed themselves to get comfortable in their shoes, which we really never get a chance to do. There's been a huge debate in the style world around the "ugly sandal" and its exponential cult following, but I think we've got it all wrong. Being comfortable, carefree and looking effortless isn't ugly, its enviable- its cool.
So instead of calling them the u-word refer to them as cool girl sandals (#CGS), its politically correct.
*PS: lucky for you they're on sale for $20, go get 'em.
